The Deliver mobile app was designed for drivers and dock workers to execute their duties while providing real-time data to management teams on the D365 side. To streamline the workers' processes, two modes are used within the app to cater to each workload:
Driver mode focuses entirely on the execution of activities from the driver's perspective. Dock mode assists with dock management and inventory movements. |

Activity Maintenance – Desktop VersionAll the items that were discussed in the Driver app section are tied back to the centralized database that is D365 in real time. These touchpoints are outlined below. Activity Screen – Activity Maintenance:When the desktop user selects an Activity, all pertinent information and options for the Activity are shown on the Activity Maintenance form. Activity Screen Header – Activity Maintenance General and Activity Lines Fast Tabs:Much like the header of the Activity Screen on the app, the General and Activity Lines Fast Tabs provide basic information for the Activity, including the Activity ID, Activity status, and starting address of the Activity. Activity Screen Actions – Activity Maintenance Actions Ribbon:The Actions listed in the Ribbon of the Activity Maintenance screen will be the same as the Driver mode of the Deliver app, but the desktop version includes the ancillary actions that are not listed in the app. Executing the Actions from the app or the desktop version will have the same results on the Activity. Activity Screen Stops – Activity Maintenance Activity Lines and Stops Fast Tabs:On the Activity Maintenance screen, the stop addresses, Logistics Orders tied to those stops, and the number of stops on the Activity can all be found in the Activity Lines and Stops Fast Tabs. Activity Line Options – Activity Maintenance:Get Directions – Route Map:Much like the Get Directions option on the app, selecting the Route Map in the View section of the Ribbon will pull up a map view of the Activity. View Line Info – Activity Lines Fast TabIn the Activity Maintenance screen, the Line Info is already listed out in the Activity Lines Fast Tab. For more detailed information on each line, the user can select the Logistics Order ID to take the user to the corresponding Logistics Order form. Capture Signature and Take Photo – Images Fast TabWhen a signature or a photo is captured on the app, it is automatically uploaded to the desktop version, and can easily be seen in the Images Fast Tab of the Activity Maintenance screen. The images are also added to the Images bank on the corresponding Logistics Order forms. Further Notes on Driver Mode:GPS:Since the Deliver app runs on the user's mobile phone, the phone needs to allow location access to the app. This allows the app to track the driver's movements while the resource is using the app. This is necessary to show that the driver arrived at the actual pickup and delivery locations, but it also provides a complete view of the Activity via GPS pings. Upon completion of an Activity, the user can select the Route Map button on the Activity Maintenance screen, which will allow the user to review the actual route taken by the resource. This will also highlight any unexpected deviations from the route. The time and distance between GPS pings are configurable from the Parameters form in the Logistics Execution module. Inbound Process Queue:While the Route Map makes a record of the GPS pings recorded along the Activity, the Inbound Process Queue (IPQ) keeps a timestamped record of the Actions executed along the Activity. The IPQ keeps a record of the date and time that the Action was submitted, as well as the date and time that the Action was actually executed in the system. The Inbound Process Queue can be found on the Activity Maintenance form in the View pane of the ribbon. |
