title | Summary |
---|
The Deliver mobile app was designed for drivers and dock workers to execute their duties while providing real-time data to management teams on the D365 side.
To streamline the workers' processes, two modes are used within the app to cater to each workload:
- Driver
- Dock
Driver mode focuses entirely on the execution of activities from the driver's perspective.
Dock mode assists with dock management and inventory movements.

Driver Mode
The Driver mode of the Deliver app provides resources with the ability to execute and document activities from the mobile device, which transmits data back to D365.
Driver Activity List
In Driver mode, driver resources can view all activities that a user is paired to from the home page.
The app displays a message if the resource is not currently assigned to any activities:
When there are paired activities, you can view the list of activities assigned to your worker.
Drilling down to an individual activity, you can view:
- the Activity ID
- the number of stops on the activity
- the total estimated distance of the activity
- the activity status

Select an activity to navigate to the activity page.
Activity Page Header
You can view basic activity information—Activity ID, start address, status— at the top of the page.
The icons in the upper right of the page allow you to pull up a route map, reload the page information, capture a photo, and return to the Deliver home page.
Activity Page Actions
The action buttons available for this activity appear under the header.

Activity Maintenance – Desktop Version
All the items that were discussed in the Driver app section are tied back to the centralized database that is D365 in real time. These touchpoints are outlined below.
Activity Screen – Activity Maintenance:
...
Activity Screen Header – Activity Maintenance General and Activity Lines Fast Tabs:
Much like the header of the Activity Screen on the app, the General and Activity Lines Fast Tabs provide basic information for the Activity, including the Activity ID, Activity status, and starting address of the Activity.
Activity Screen Actions – Activity Maintenance Actions Ribbon:
The Actions listed in the Ribbon of the Activity Maintenance screen will be the same as the Driver mode of the Deliver app, but the desktop version includes the ancillary actions that are not listed in the app. Executing the Actions from the app or the desktop version will have the same results on the Activity.
Executing the Actions from the app or the desktop version will have the same results on the Activity. The Start/Begin action will populate the Start Date Time field in the Time Fast Tab, as well as the Arrival Date Time for the origin location in the Activity Lines Fast Tab. Depart Actions will timestamp their respective Activity Lines, as will Arrive Actions. The Complete/End Action will populate the End Date Time on the Time Fast Tab, as well as the Depart Date Time on the Activity Lines Fast Tab.
It is also important to note that the driver does not have to execute the stops in order. Stops can be completed in whichever order the driver deems best. Stops can also be skipped entirely. Completion of all stops is not necessary to complete the Activity.
Activity Screen Stops – Activity Maintenance Activity Lines and Stops Fast Tabs:
On the Activity Maintenance screen, the stop addresses, Logistics Orders tied to those stops, and the number of stops on the Activity can all be found in the Activity Lines and Stops Fast Tabs.
Activity Line Options – Activity Maintenance:
Get Directions – Route Map:
Much like the Get Directions option on the app, selecting the Route Map in the View section of the Ribbon will pull up a map view of the Activity.
View Line Info – Activity Lines Fast Tab
In the Activity Maintenance screen, the Line Info is already listed out in the Activity Lines Fast Tab. For more detailed information on each line, the user can select the Logistics Order ID to take the user to the corresponding Logistics Order form.
Capture Signature and Take Photo – Images Fast Tab
When a signature or a photo is captured on the app, it is automatically uploaded to the desktop version, and can easily be seen in the Images Fast Tab of the Activity Maintenance screen. The images are also added to the Images bank on the corresponding Logistics Order forms.
Further Notes on Driver Mode:
GPS:
Since the Deliver app runs on the user's mobile phone, the phone needs to allow location access to the app. This allows the app to track the driver's movements while the resource is using the app. This is necessary to show that the driver arrived at the actual pickup and delivery locations, but it also provides a complete view of the Activity via GPS pings. Upon completion of an Activity, the user can select the Route Map button on the Activity Maintenance screen, which will allow the user to review the actual route taken by the resource. This will also highlight any unexpected deviations from the route. The time and distance between GPS pings are configurable from the Parameters form in the Logistics Execution module.
