A work flow depicts a series of sequenced statuses a business transaction could go through during its lifecycle.
It can also describe which party would initiate a particular step, what systematic processing/validation needs to happen at that step, which statuses can be changed to a target status, and more.
These sequences outline the interactions between the different parties involved to make sure everyone knows the business transaction status.
