Implementation and Testing Guidelines
Here are some general guidelines that will help you get started with Supply Chain Cloud.
We also suggest reading through the Ship FAQs for common errors to avoid.
Guidelines for Addresses
- Analyze the requirements for your carrier API (Supply Chain Cloud Address Requirements) very early in the process to find any master data that would lead to field length restrictions.
To fix, you can either:
- Change the master data
- Introduce a modification that truncates the XML message to the carrier.
- Are you missing phone numbers? Some carrier service combinations require a phone number.
- Test with your longest addresses:
- Do you have address lines longer than 35 characters? For some carriers, that may be a problem.
- Do you have more than two address lines? For some carriers, that may be a problem.
Guidelines for International Shipping
- Check your Required Fields for International Shipping in D365 F&SCM.
- If you are shipping to the EU, check the European Union Country Requirements.
- View the International Shipping resources page.
Pay Attention to These Key Configurations
- Freight term scenarios:
- See Delivery Terms Setup for options.
- Do you use third-party account numbers?
