Warehouse-Specific Inventory Transactions
Warehouse-Specific Inventory Transactions
10.0.36+ Mandatory Feature
Starting with the 10.0.36 release of Dynamics 365, the warehouse-specific inventory transactions feature is mandatory.
It will automatically be turned on for your system as soon as you update to version 10.0.36.
Important
Mandatory features cannot be turned off.
See Microsoft's documentation on this functionality.
Avanade has done an analysis on the potential impact of this feature on Supply Chain Cloud.
Bill
- Feature could cause issues if you have queries set up to look at InventTrans records generated by work.
- Those queries may need to be adjusted to look at WHSInventoryTransaction.
Order
- Feature should have no impact.
Supply Chain Cloud
- You must update to Version 55 or newer in order to use shipment-based manifesting.
- If using a non-TMS-enabled container packing policy, you will not be able to manifest with shipment-based manifesting due to TMS manifest data requirements.
Transport + Deliver
- The Transport + Deliver custom work order types are not currently utilizing the new warehouse inventory transactions records.
Avanade is investigating the possibility of incorporating them into the functionality but does not expect their absence to have any impact at this time.
Recommendation
Analyze and test any modifications done around Supply Chain Cloud to make sure there is not a dependency on work-related InventTrans records.
