Promotion Types

The Promotion Types configuration allows you to configure different variations of promotions.
Click New Promotion Type to add a promotion type. Click Edit to edit a promotion type.

| Name | Promotion type name. |
| Description | Detailed description. |
| Work Flow Header | For price management, this is set at the promotion type level. Different work flows can be leveraged for different situations but must be configured with different promotion types. |
| Volume Breaks | Controls whether the promotion type will leverage volume breaks. |
| Require Group Processing | Forces all items that match the promotion criteria into the promotion (whether or not they are on a given change set). |
| Generate Reference Num | Controls whether the reference number will be automatically generated or user specified. |
| Reference Num Prefix | Prefix for the reference number if automatically generated. |
| Default Calculation Type | Default calculation type for a new price change set. The calculation type can be changed upon creation, if desired. |
The Promotion Criteria section specifies the rules that make the given promotion type available for an item/customer/changeset.
This can force specific types of items to have the promotion type available for creation.
Click New Promotion Criteria or Edit to open the Edit Promotion Criteria pop-up window.
