Tasks come into play with final-mile deliveries that include items and services.
Example
A customer orders a washing machine:
- The machine is an item.
- The installation of the machine is a service.
D365 Finance and Supply Chain Management allows you to enter both items (e.g., lumber, washer, dryer, bicycle) and services (e.g., on-site installation or construction) on a sales order.
When that sales order crosses into Transport + Deliver as a logistics order, you can view tasks, create new tasks, and mark tasks as complete.
You can also complete tasks from the Deliver Mobile App.
