Activity Maintenance
Logistics Execution > Common > Activities > Activity Maintenance
Although there is an Activity Maintenance form, you can access activity maintenance for a specific activity by clicking the Activity ID on other forms.
The Activity Maintenance form functions as the dispatch status board or interactive trip sheet. It allows you to process an order using actions created during Activity Master setup.
Activity maintenance can be accomplished manually via the Logistics Execution module or can be configured for integration with external device driver macros in conjunction with automated actions.
Manually Process an Activity
Once an activity is paired with the necessary assets on the Activity Resource Workbench, you can begin processing the order using the Activity Maintenance form.
The Activity Maintenance form is accessible from the ribbon on either activity workbench.
Although the individual steps to manually process an activity vary based on the operation type, as well as the activity master and template, you are responsible for using buttons and automated actions to create each status update.
Example
A logistics company runs a dedicated operation, including a milk run (see screenshot above), that is made up of four pre-loaded deliveries. To complete this activity, you must manually trigger all actions associated with it.
Remember: An activity only needs a START and END action to be completed.
Requested Date Time
The Requested Date Time field displays the customer's requested arrival time for each activity line. Although this field might be indicative of customer preference, it is most commonly associated with appointment time.
Actual Date Time
In addition to recording the inbound and outbound times for each activity line, Transport + Deliver also records the actual date time.
The Actual Date Time field represents the time of inventory transition at a location.
For an activity using auto-load or auto-unload, this coincides with one of the macros. Otherwise, Actual Date Time populates upon inventory transfer from asset to facility.
Note
If a logistics order has logistics order lines tied to multiple activities, Transport + Deliver does not allow the second activity to start until the first activity is completed.
This ensures the correct sequence of events is followed.
