Sample Shipment Work Flow
A Shipment Work Flow illustrates the lifecycle of a shipment and how the interactions occur between the host and vendor (and possibly the carrier).
It can also interact with related PO business transactions (e.g., delivery of a shipment can update the PO as delivered or partially delivered).
The work flow configuration in ECO for the above chart:
The same observations regarding the Purchase Order Work Flow apply to the Shipment Work Flow.
Also, it is possible for individual work flow details to interact with other business transactions.
Example
A shipment business transaction needs to reference a valid PO business transaction. It is possible for a specific shipment work flow detail to update the status of the associated PO.
The details behind sequence 100 (New Shipment) illustrate this capability.
When sequence 100 is applied (a new shipment is created), the associated PO is updated to Pending Shipment status.
The Parent Business Transaction Type is set to PurchaseOrder and the Parent Transaction Code is set to Pending Shipment.
