Device Server Installation and Setup Guide

The Supply Chain Cloud Device Server utility is used for label printing and scale interaction.

It sits in your Windows system tray and communicates with Supply Chain Cloud.

Important

Version 2.1 allows for global installation of the Device Server.

This means once an Admin installs the program to a computer, all users of that computer can access the Device Server without having to download it for each user.

You must uninstall any older versions and reinstall Version 2.1 or newer to utilize this functionality.

Note

  • If you are looking for information about the Scale Operations application, please reach out to your support representative.
  • See Device Server Upgrade for information on upgrading from Version 1 to Version 2.

 Prerequisites

You must download the November 2021 Supply Chain Cloud release or newer to use Device Server with Dynamics 365 F&SCM.

 Installation

Accenture will provide the Device Service installation files.

The application should be installed on the workstation where it will be used.

Run the MSI file.

Important

Microsoft Defender SmartScreen may block the .msi installation file from running.

To bypass this warning, select the Unblock option under Device Service Properties (right-click the .msi file > Properties > General > Security > Unblock).

Select Everyone to install the Device Server globally (i.e., anyone who uses the computer has access).

Select Launch Device Server to run the application immediately after install completes.
