Label Reference Fields

Reference fields allow you to add identifiers to a shipment label.

 Australia Post

Australia Post limits the number of passed reference fields to two.

By default, Supply Chain Cloud passes sales order as reference 1.

For Shipping Carrier Setup, you must use the Shipment reference level configurations.

 Canada Post

Canada Post limits the number of passed reference fields to two.

For Shipping Carrier Setup, you must use the Container reference level configurations.

 DHL Express

DHL Express limits the number of passed reference fields to one.

By default, Supply Chain Cloud passes sales order as reference 1.

For Shipping Carrier Setup, you must use the Shipment reference level configurations.

 DPD

Supply Chain Cloud does not currently support reference fields for DPD labels.


 Endicia

Endicia limits the number of passed reference fields to three.

By default, Supply Chain Cloud passes container ID as reference 1.

For Shipping Carrier Setup, you can use either of the two reference level configurations. If both are set, the system uses the Container reference level configurations.

Note

Endicia supports domestic shipments only.

 FedEx & FedEx APIs

FedEx limits the number of passed reference fields to three.

By default, Supply Chain Cloud passes:

  • container ID as reference 1
  • sales order number as reference 2

For Shipping Carrier Setup, you must use the Container reference level configurations.

FedEx RefField Mapping

When you send a FedEx reference field, you must give the field a type (e.g. invoice number, customer name, etc.).

View the chart below to see how FedEx maps reference fields.

Note

On the label below, the department number is not passed because the first three reference fields are filled and passed.

 MyDHL

OnTrac limits the number of passed reference fields to one.

For Shipping Carrier Setup, you must use the Container reference level configurations.

OnTrac supports domestic shipments only.

 Purolator

Purolator limits the number of passed reference fields to one.

For Shipping Carrier Setup, you must use the Shipment reference level configurations.

 UPS & UPS APIs

UPS limits the number of passed reference fields to two.

By default, Supply Chain Cloud passes:

  • container ID as reference 1
  • sales order number as reference 2

Note

If you are using a UPS Mail Innovations service, the Cost Center will populate reference 2.

For Shipping Carrier Setup:

  • you can use either of the two reference level configurations for domestic shipments.
  • you must use the Container reference level configurations if shipping internationally.
