Fixed Routes - Transportation Tender

Fixed route planning and management is critical for distributors and manufacturers that have multiple routes for deliveries to the same stops every day/week or even multiple times a day. 

The Fixed Routes page allows you to create, edit, and delete fixed routescollections of two or more stops. Each stop is put into a sequence

New or Edit Fixed Route

Click New to create a fixed route. Click Edit to edit a fixed route.

This opens a pop-up window where you can enter the following details:

General Tab

FIELDDESCRIPTION
NameEnter a name for the route. Must be unique.
CarrierSelect the carrier for the route.
Carrier ServiceSelect the carrier service for the route.
Cutoff Time

Select the cutoff time—the time at which orders will no longer be accepted prior to the tender proceeding.

Effective Start Date

Select the route start date.
Effective End Date

Select the route end date. 

This is not required.

ActiveTurn on this toggle if the fixed route is active.
Route ScheduleSelect the days of the week that the route is active.

Parameters Tab

FIELDDESCRIPTION
Transaction Type

Select the transaction type for this route.

This list is populated with Transaction Types that have the Has Fixed Route toggle turned on.

Tender Release Option

Select the tender release option for this route:

  • At Order Cutoff: Release when the order cutoff and grace period lapses. 
  • Manual: Manually release.
Release Without Required OrdersTurn on this toggle to allow the release of the route tender even if there are not shipments for all required stops.
New Stop Workflow Transaction CodeSelect the stop workflow code for this route.
Origin Stop

Select the origin stop for this route. 

This list is populated with all Origin Locations that have the Fixed Route Stop toggle turned on.

Equipment Type

Select an equipment type for this route.

You can select from all types assigned to the selected carrier.

Stops Section

FIELDDESCRIPTION
New

Click this button to add a stop to the route and enter the following information:

  • Sequence: This number is system assigned.
  • Stop Name: Select a stop not already assigned to the current route. (Stops are configured on the Stops page and can be assigned to multiple routes.)
  • Required: Turn on this toggle if the stop must have a pending delivery before a tender is released.
  • Active On Route: Turn on this toggle if the stop is currently active for this route.
  • Pallet Return: Turn on this toggle if there is potential to pick up previous delivered pallets at this stop.
  • Manual: Turn on this toggle if this fixed route stop will be handled manually.

Note

A route must have at least two stops before it can be saved.

Move Down/Move UpUse these buttons to change the sequence of the stops.
Freight Items

Click this button to manage Freight Items with the Stop cost type.

You can assign freight items to the route, as well as edit the cost of the freight items.

Click Save to save any changes.

Delete Fixed Route

Select the desired record and click Delete to delete a fixed route.

Click OK on the confirmation pop-up to confirm the deletion.

Copy Fixed Route

Select the desired route and click Copy

You can adjust the name and route schedule on the copy.

Copying is useful if multiple (but similar) routes are needed.

Freight Items

Select the desired record and click Freight Items to manage Freight Items with the Tender cost type.

You can assign freight items to the route, as well as edit the cost of the freight items.

Click Save to save any changes.

Import/Export Fixed Routes

Click Import and select your file(s) to import.

Select a record and click Export to export.

Click Export All to export all displayed records.
