Getting Started with Transport + Deliver
Follow this configuration checklist to get an operation up and running as quickly and painlessly as possible.
This is the safest way to quickly set up a transportation network in the Logistics Execution module.
Configuration Checklist
Set up attributes. Attributes give you the ability to create your own fields and assign them to logistics types.
Define logistics types. Logistics types are used to define all resources necessary for the operation.
Define status groups. Statuses are fully customizable fields that identify the current availability of a given resource.
Create actions. Actions assist you in processing logistics orders and activities from start to finish.
Group actions into activity masters. Activity masters are templates that allow you to define which actions can be utilized in processing each type of activity.
Create operations. Operations are organizational structures that represents a given method of executing logistics based on transactions.
Create operational profiles for each operation. Profiles allow for additional user security setup regarding the logistics operations.
Create workers. Workers are necessary to assign real-world resources to activities in the program.
Create activity templates. Activity templates predetermine what resources are required to appropriately satisfy an activity. They are tied to an activity master and customized for a particular logistics event.
Create facilities. Facilities represent the physical sites/structures where activities can take place in an operation (e.g., terminal, cross-dock, customer site, yard).
Create assets. Assets represent the equipment used within an operation to execute activities.
