Origin Locations

 Create/Edit Origin Location

Create/Edit Origin Location

Click New or Edit to create or edit the location record for your warehouse.

Select an option from the Time Zone drop-down list. This time zone is used when setting up carrier cutoffs.

Enter the value in the Host System Reference field that corresponds to your
Warehouse in D365 F&SCM.

See Future Ship Date Setup for more information.

 Carrier Cutoffs

Carrier Cutoffs

Click Carrier Cutoffs to create or edit cutoff records for the location.

Select a carrier (and optionally a carrier service) from the drop-down list; only carriers with Automatically Adjust Ship Date enabled on the carrier configuration page are available.

Select from the additional options to configure cutoff parameters for the selected carrier:

  • Cutoff Time: The time the carrier picks up its shipments at this location. Any shipments processed after this time will be scheduled for the next shipping day. This cutoff time respects the time zone set for the origin location.

  • Saturday Pickup: Turn on this toggle to enable Saturday as a shipping day for this carrier and this location.
  • Sunday Pickup: Turn on this toggle to enable Sunday as a shipping day for this carrier and location.

Note

The Saturday Pickup and Sunday Pickup toggles are used to determine the next shipping date only. They do not trigger accessorials or contact carriers about weekend pickups.

 Non-Shipping Dates

Non-Shipping Dates

Click Non-Shipping Dates to select dates, such as holidays, where no shipments will go out.

When calculating future ship dates, this origin location will skip over non-shipping dates and select the next available date, depending on your carrier configuration settings (e.g., is Saturday or Sunday a ship day, etc.).

Click New to create a non-shipping date that defaults to the current date or double-click a calendar square to create a non-shipping date for that day.

Click Save

Your non-shipping date now appears on the calendar. Hover over the record and click the X to remove the non-shipping date.

Carrier Configuration

Turn on the Automatically Adjust Ship Date toggle to enable the carrier to adjust the ship date based on time zone, carrier cutoff, and non-shipping date settings.

Set the Cutoff Time field to the time the carrier picks up its shipments. Any shipments processed after this time will be scheduled for the next shipping day.

For example: FedEx picks up at 6 PM UTC. Anything processed after 6 PM UTC is set to ship the next day.

Turn on the Saturday Pickup and/or Sunday Pickup toggles to the day(s) as a shipping day(s) for this carrier. These toggles are used to determine the next shipping date only; they do not trigger accessorials or contact carriers about weekend pickups.

Note

At the carrier service level, this field respects Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).

For example: FedEx picks up at 6 PM UTC. Anything processed after 6 PM UTC is set to ship the next day.

Turn on the Saturday Pickup and/or Sunday Pickup toggles to the day(s) as a shipping day(s) for this carrier service. These toggles are used to determine the next shipping date only; they do not trigger accessorials or contact carriers about weekend pickups.

Example

It is 8 PM on Friday, July 9, before a holiday weekend. You want to view the next available USPS shipping date.

Confirm your carrier settings to make sure the system can calculate the next valid shipping date.

  • Carrier Cutoffs: The USPS cutoff time is 7 PM and there is no Saturday or Sunday pickup.

  • Non-Shipping Dates: Monday, July 12, is marked as a non-shipping date because of a holiday.

The system will run a series of checks:

  • Is it past the cutoff time on Friday? Yes - check next day.
  • Is Saturday a valid ship date? No - check next day.
  • Is Sunday a valid ship date? No - check next day.
  • Is Monday a valid ship date? No - holiday - check next day.
  • Is Tuesday a valid ship day? Yes.

Tuesday is the next valid shipping date.
