Driver Mode

The Driver mode of the Deliver app provides resources with the ability to execute and document activities from the mobile device, which transmits data back to D365.

Activity List

In Driver mode, resources can view all activities that are assigned to their worker.

Drilling down to an individual activity, you can view:

  • the activity ID
  • the total estimated distance of the activity
  • the number of logistics orders and handling units tied to the activity
  • the weight and volume for the order
  • the activity status

Select an activity to navigate to the activity page.

The bell icon will display a number if there are any incoming notifications from D365.

Tap to view.

Tap the pen icon to send a notification to D365.

The app displays a message if the resource does not currently have any assigned activities.

Tap Closed Activities or Incomplete Activities to view all activities, if desired.

Activity Page

The activity page lists the stops for the selected activity.

Tap actions to move the activity through its stops.

 Header

You can view basic activity information—activity ID, start address, logistics order status, arrival status—at the top of the page.

The arrival status is determined by the current time of the device, the estimated time to the destination, and the expected arrival time for the stop.

  • Ahead of Schedule: The current time is ahead of the required time to make it to the destination before the expected arrival.
  • On Time: The current time is within five minutes (early or late) of the expected arrival for the stop.

  • Behind Schedule: The current time is behind the required time to make it to the destination after the expected arrival.

The bell icon will display a number if there are any incoming notifications from D365.

 Actions

The actions available for this activity display in the middle of the page.

Note

  • The driver does not have to execute the stops in order. Stops can be completed in whichever order the driver deems best, or skipped entirely.
  • Completion of all stops is not necessary to complete the activity.
  • See Profiles for information on how to give a user the ability to override actions.

Depart

If you require proof of delivery and you tap Depart without capturing an image or signature, you are alerted that you must capture POD before leaving the location.

To require proof of delivery:

  1. Create an action with the Document reference action type.
  2. Turn on the Proof of Delivery Required? toggle.
  3. Select Image or Signature depending on your requirement needs.
