Item Group Substitution

Global order promising > Setup > Item substitution > Item group substitution

The Item group substitution form allows you to configure substitution groups. Substitution groups are groups of items that are interchangeable.

Set up how and when those items can be substituted without the effort required to configure all possible combinations on the Distinct Item Substitution form.

Example

Items A, B, and C are interchangeable, so you create a substitution group containing A, B, and C.

Within the group, you specify the desired fulfillment order between those items:

  • Item B is the preferred item.
  • Item A is the second choice
  • Item C is the third choice.

Additionally, inclusion and exclusion criteria can be leveraged to get more specific.

Example

Customer US-001 only wants items A or B (not C).

Customer US-002 has no preference.
