Fixed Routing Overview
- Megan Stanage (Unlicensed)
Supply Chain Cloud's fixed routing functionality offers the ability to group a collection of deliveries serviced with the same equipment/truck on a predefined schedule.
Configuration
Configure Routing Transaction Types in Supply Chain Cloud
System > Configurations > Transportation Tender > Transaction Types
Configure your tender transaction type to enable fixed routes for the transaction type.
Manage Addresses in D365 F&SCM
Accounts receivable > Customers > All customers > select a customer > Addresses FastTab > More Options > Advanced
Turn on the Fixed route stop toggle to associate a customer address record to a stop.
Note
A Ship To address can be part of multiple routes.
You can also add notes for the fixed route stop, if needed.
These stops populate the Stops page in Supply Chain Cloud.
Manage Fixed Routes in Supply Chain Cloud
System > Configurations > Transportation Tender > Fixed Routes > Fixed Routes
Manage fixed routes—collections of two or more stops—and put the stops in a sequence on the Fixed Routes page.
This is where you select a carrier and carrier service, set the schedule, and choose a cutoff time for the route.
Functionality
Run the Fixed Routing Job in D365 F&SCM
Supply Chain Cloud > Periodic tasks > Fixed routing
Run the Fixed routing job to evaluate how many sales orders have fixed route stops based on delivery address.
Because there are no shipments or loads for these orders yet, the tender will be created using a route in D365 F&SCM.
Supply Chain Cloud will create a tender representing the active fixed route and a shipment representing the fixed route stop/delivery address.
Acknowledge the Tender in Supply Chain Cloud
Transportation Tenders > Transportation Tender Summary
Acknowledge the tender in Supply Chain Cloud.
The system will update D365 F&SCM to reflect that a fixed route is ready to ship.
Note
You can set your warehouse workflow in D365 F&SCM to only release to the warehouse tenders acknowledged in Supply Chain Cloud.
