Rate Engines
Rate engines calculate transportation rates in D365. The Ship rate engine communicates with Supply Chain Cloud to retrieve carrier rates.
COLUMN NAME | DESCRIPTION |
Rate engine | A unique name (required for each rate engine). |
Name | An in-depth description of the rate engine. |
Rating metadata ID | An ID that defines the interpretation of database tables used by the rate engine. This can be left blank for Supply Chain Cloud. |
Engine assembly | The full name (with extension) of the dll file specified for the rate engine project. |
Engine class | The fully qualified name of the .NET type that defines the engine. |
Parameters
Click Parameters on the top toolbar to define the engine parameters when selecting a specific rate engine.
Parameters provide engine functionality detail and point to the specific web services the rate engines use.
Supply Chain Cloud Parameters
This table outlines the required parameters for the Supply Chain Cloud engine.
PARAMETER NAME | PARAMETER VALUE |
---|---|
ApportionmentEngine | AppWeight Note AppWeight is a base engine under "Generic engines." If AppWeight is desired, it must be set under Transportation management > Setup > Engines > Generic engine. If not there, it can be automatically set under Transportation management > Setup > Transportation management parameters. Under General > Engines, click Initialize base engine data to populate the base engines and their parameters. |
NegotiatedRatesForShip | Y/N |
NegotiatedRatesForRate | Y/N |
Note
The NegotiatedRates flags affect which charges get mapped in D365 F&SCM. The carrier will bill you according to your contracted rates.
If set to N, list rates are mapped instead of negotiated rates.
Additional Supply Chain Cloud Configurations
These parameters are used less often and may not be necessary.
Some parameters need to be adjusted per shipper and require interaction with the carrier and/or carrier representative.
